The Cowlitz County Soccer Referees Association is actively accepting new referee candidates. If you are interested in refereeing, there will be a class offered on Saturday, March 25th from 9am to 5pm. The class will be held at the 7th Ave Soccer Complex, Blondin Building Clubhouse. Although this is a one-day clinic, there are online modules that must be completed prior to attending.
Referees for Cowlitz Youth Soccer are paid anywhere between $12 to $37 per match (depending on age group, location of the match, and whether you’re assigned as the referee or assistant referee). Throughout the season, there are multiple matches available on Saturdays and occasional matches that need referees during the week. You only referee the matches that you accept and that work with your schedule; however, if you accept one, you’re expected to work it.
Your certification will be good throughout 2017 so you’ll be able to referee Spring Season as well as Fall Season. Re-certification is required each year but only consists of two hours of in-person training and some online modules.
Adults are preferred; must be 7th grade or older.
Once certified, if you referee a minimum of 5 games in one season, you can be reimbursed up to $50 toward your certification costs. You must keep track of the matches and request the reimbursement through your assignor.
Additionally, if you referee a minimum of 5 games, you can request to receive up to $25 reimbursed toward the cost of your uniform. You must save your receipts and request this through your home soccer club (your assignor will help you with this).
Space is limited in this class. Sign up early and begin your modules.
